Universal
Trailer Cover FAQ’S:
What are the differences between the
fabrics you offer for Universal Fit covers?
-
The first
universal fit RV cover that we offer has a white Tyvek roof and gray
polypropylene sides. The white Tyvek roof piece is one piece that runs the
length of the roof of the RV. The Tyvek fabric has a 99.8% UV protection
rating. The Tyvek fabric is layered, not woven. The sides are made from a
polypropylene material, which is one layer and it does not have any documented
UV protection. This cover is 100% breathable, mildew and water resistant, not
waterproof. We recommend this cover for customers who don’t want to spend the
money for a custom cover, but who store their RV’s in the Southwestern and
Southeastern states (states with intense heat). The Tyvek roof will offer UV
protection. However, customers with this cover may notice sun rot along the
roof seam of the Tyvek and polypropylene fabrics. This may happen within the
first two years, sometimes sooner. Sun damage is covered under warranty for all
covers.
-
A second
universal fit cover that we offer is the SFS/Polypropylene cover. It has a gray
SFS Aqua Shed roof piece. The gray SFS Aqua Shed fabric is three layers of the
polypropylene. It does not have any documented UV protection.
The sides are made from a gray polypropylene
material, which is one layer and it does not have any documented UV protection.
This cover is 100% breathable, mildew and water resistant, not waterproof. We
recommend this cover to our customers who store their RV’s in mild climates
such as the Northwestern states and even Northeastern and Midwestern states.
-
The third universal
fit RV cover we offer is completely made out of the gray polypropylene
material. This cover is 100% breathable, mildew and water resistant, not
waterproof. We recommend this cover to our customers who store their RV’s in
mild climates such as the Northwestern states and even Northeastern and
Midwestern states.
How
long is the warranty for Universal fit covers?
-
All universal fit
trailer and RV covers have a two year warranty against manufacturer errors and
defects and sun rot. Wind damage is not covered under the warranty.
It
snows where I store my trailer. Can your covers be used in the snow?
-
Yes our covers
can be used in the snow. Please wait until the snow and ice melt before
removing the cover from your RV.
Are there
door inserts in the Universal Fit RV Covers?
-
Yes,
there are zipper door panels sewn into the universal fit covers. The toy hauler
and 5th wheel toy hauler covers include a rear ramp zipper door,
which extends to almost the full height of the rear of the trailers and
includes three large, side zipper door panels for access to the side door.
Since the side door placement varies from RV model to model, three panels are
included to accommodate the various door placements. The three side zipper door
panels are included in all of our remaining RV covers, such as travel trailers,
5th wheel trailers, Class A and Class C RV’s.
How do the doors on the cover stay open and
secured while my RV doors are open?
-
Velcro
tabs are sewn into the fabric of the cover above the door placements. After
you roll up the fabric door, attach the Velcro tabs at the top of the door
to secure it in place.
Why should I invest in a custom cover
rather than a Universal Fit cover?
-
People who
are planning to keep their trailer for more than 2 years may want to
invest in a cover that offers protection from the damaging UV rays. Our
custom covers are tailor made to fit your trailer’s exact dimensions. We
offer a four year warranty and a five year warranty with our custom
covers.
The bottom corners of my RV are sharp. How
can I protect my cover?
-
All of our universal and custom covers include vinyl reinforced patching,
at the bottom four corners of the covers, in order to prevent the cover from
tearing.
-
We provide cover tips on our website which describe how a person can
protect a cover, from the sharp edges and corners, on an RV.
My trailer’s model number says that it’s
26’. Will a 23’-26’ universal fit cover fit on my trailer?
-
Always measure your trailer/RV from the farthest frontal point (never
include the tongue in the measurement) to the farthest rear point of the
trailer/RV, before purchasing a universal or a custom cover.
-
Most toy
hauler trailers (especially Weekend Warrior) and many other trailers and RV’s
measure 1 ½ feet longer than the model number says.
-
It’s important not to buy a cover that is too tight. If the cover is too
tight, it may rip while the cover is being put on or being taken off.
-
Having a little extra material is helpful.
My RV has an air conditioning unit, an
antenna dome and an air vent on the roof. Will the Universal Fit cover fit my
RV?
-
Yes. All of our covers accommodate for the a/c units, antenna domes and
air vents. However, if your RV has antenna that stands straight up (like a car
antenna), it will have to be removed or bent all the way down before the cover
is put on your RV.
My RV has an antenna that stands up a
couple of feet (like a car antenna). Can you cut a hole in the cover for me, or
can I cut the hole to make room for the antenna?
-
No. We will not cut out any holes for traditional antennas or any other
object placed on the roof of your RV, whether the cover is a universal or a
custom.
-
We do not recommend that you cut any holes either. If you do, you null
and you’re your cover’s warranty.
-
You may take your cover and have holes made by a professional seamstress,
however, you will void your cover’s warranty.
Does anything else come with my cover?
Yes. Each universal
fit cover comes with the following:
-
ladder cap (a piece of material to
put over the ladder to give added protection from the ladder and cover rubbing
and causing damage to the cover)
-
several buckle straps sewn into the bottom length of the cover
-
reinforced grommets sewn into the
nose of the trailer
-
nylon rope to secure and tighten
through the grommets to tighten any excess material on the cover
-
Two sets of free tyre gards (4 indiv.) Color options are black, colonial
white (cream), and polar white (white). Customers choose the tyre gard size and
color.
Free tyre gards are
not included in the purchase of a folding trailer or hi lo trailer cover.
Customers may not
choose the size and color of the free tyre gards for the universal fit Class A
and Class C RV covers. Those are preselected for the tire size that comes with
those RVs.
